Hung Henry Nguyen received his B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, USA in 1980, an MS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1983, and a Ph.D. in Signal Processing from George Mason University, Fairfax, VA in 1994.ق From 1996 to 1997, he was a visiting Research Scientist at George Mason University. From 1980 to 1999, he was with a number of industrial companies such as Combustion Engineering, Raytheon, Orincon and MedAcoustics before joining The Aerospace Corporation, Chantilly, VA where he is currently an Associate Director in the Engineering and Technology Group. He is also an Adjunct Professor teaching wireless communications at George Mason University. His current research interests are wireless and optical communications, detection & estimation theory, modulation & coding theory, and networking.

He has been active in the field of communications and signal processing for more than 25 years, with several published papers and patents in both areas. He was a member of various technical committees in IEEE, served in many conferences and symposia, most recently the Chair of Signal Processing Symposium IEEE GLOBECOM '06. Currently, he is the Secretary of the Signal Processing and Communications Electronics (SPCE) Technical Committee of IEEE ComSoc.ق He is a recipient of several industrial award and patents. Dr. Nguyen is an IEEE Senior Member.

Tomohiko Taniguchi received his B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 1982, joined Fujitsu Laboratories Limited, Kawasaki, Japan, and received his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2006. From 1987 to 1988, he was a visiting scholar at Stanford University, Stanford, California,ق USA; from 1996 to 2000, he was with Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Sunnyvale, California,ق USA. He is currently with Fujitsu Laboratories Limited, Yokosuka, Japan, as Director of Wireless Access Laboratory. He has been active in the field of signal processing for more than 20 years. He was a member of various technical committees in IEEE Signal Processing Society and Communications Society, served for many conferences and symposia, including six times Chair of Signal Processing Symposium in ICC'02, IEEE GLOBECOM '02,ق IEEE GLOBECOM '03,ق IIEEE CC'05,ق IEEE ICC'06,ق and IEEE ICC'07. He is recognized for his inventions in speech coding and DSP technologies, and holds essential patents for various international standards, such as ITU-T, MPEG, 3GPP, and 3GPP2. He is a recipient of several awards for his papers and patents. In 2006, he was honored with theقIEEE ComSoc-SPCE Outstanding Service Award. He is currently serving as Chair, IEEE SPCE (Signal Processing and Communications Electronics) Technical Committee, and has been an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology since May 2007. Dr. Taniguchi is a Fellow of IEEE, and a Fellow of IEICE.

Hsiao-Chun Wu obtained a Ph.D. degree from University of Florida in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Since March of 1999, Dr. Wu had joined Motorola Personal Communications Sector research labs and designed human-intelligence speech interface for cellular phones. In 2001, he joined the faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Louisiana State University. Dr. Wu has published more than 80 refereed journal and conference papers in signal processing, wireless communications, broadcasting,ق sensor networks and ultrasonics. He is an IEEE Senior Member and currently serves on four journal editorial boards (associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Broadcasting, associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, associate editor for Computers and Electrical Engineering, editorial board member for Journal of the Franklin Institute) in the area of electrical and computer engineering. He participated in the Technical Program Committees for IEEE GLOBECOM 2006-2008,قIEEE ICC 2008-2009, IEEE VTC, Spring 2008, IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting 2006-2008, IEEE HWISE 2008,قIEEE WCNC 2006, 2008,قIEEE Wireless Telecommunications Symposium, 2006-2008, IEEE International Workshop on Heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks,ق2006,قIEEE International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications,ق2006. He constantly serves as the peer reviewer for over 30 technical journals.
